Product design
LPC has significant experience in product design from concept design, through prototyping and mock-ups, to final design for production.
Projects include development of camera systems for VSPARS Ltd. This has encompassed full electronic design, housing design for injection moulding, aesthetics and ergonomics.
Electronic design
With a special emphasis on the marine environment, LPC has undertaken electronics projects from concept through to production. See examples of custom products.
Projects include a variety of sensor-based solutions for measuring motion, shape, forces and pressures. These have been delivered both wired and wirelessly, and include bespoke data acquisition software. Many have been deployed in harsh environments
Software development
Whether it's writing a quick bit of code to test a concept, or developing a full-featured user interface, software development is a fundamental part of the LPC skill-set.
We have significant experience with many languages (C#.Net, Python, LabVIEW, Arduino, C++) and can quickly and effciently develop the right tool for the job.
Mechanical design
LPC has undertaken several significant mechanical design and build projects.
Notable projects at Doyle Sails NZ include the design and build of both a "caterpuller" and several sail plotters. Both were designed from scratch. These machines operate over 20hrs per day, 6 days per week, so reliability was one of the key drivers.
Project management
Good project management is critical in making any process a success. Time and money must be efficiently managed.
Notable case studies include project management of the design and build of the University of Auckland's wind tunnel (the largest wind tunnel in NZ), which came in on time and under budget.
